Doctrinal Nourishment: Art and Anarchism in the Time of James Ensor

88-page exhibition catalogue of the politically subversive etchings of James Ensor, as well as a selection of works from LACMA’s German Expressionist prints. James Ensor’s “body” of work was a rich source of form-making possibilities. Doodles, dingbats, drop caps, and patterns that were inspired by his farts, intestines, and excrement, were used as graphic ornamentation throughout the book.
